THE PRACTICAL DETAILS

01Agree the method before tracing+
Send an overall furniture photograph and views of the empty seat. Josh will explain whether to trace the frame opening, an existing cushion or another agreed reference. Do not add guessed seam allowances.
02Mark each pattern clearly+
Identify the top face, front edge, left or right position and quantity. Record curves, cut-outs and attachment positions as instructed. Keep related seat and back patterns identifiable as a set.
03Check it on the furniture+
Place the completed pattern back on its intended surface and photograph the fit. Confirm thickness separately: a flat outline does not describe a three-dimensional cushion. Agree any correction before returning it.

Can I use an old stretched cover as the only pattern?
It may help explain the construction, but it can be an unreliable guide to the finished shape. Send fitted photographs and discuss whether measurements, original foam or new pattern material are needed.
