Test the opening, not only the outline.
01Record the closed and open positions+
Photograph the cushion in place, then the lid or hatch open where it is safe and normal to do so. Identify whether the cushion lifts with the lid, lifts off first or bridges more than one panel.
02Mark the points that need clearance+
Show handles, hinges, catches and the edges that pass neighbouring cushions. Explain any existing rubbing or obstruction. A new piping line or greater cushion depth should be reviewed at these points.
03Keep essential access in the handover check+
Agree which panels must remain removable and how attachments release. Do not cover access labels or obstruct emergency equipment. Any proposed structural change belongs with the appropriate qualified trade before upholstery is made.

Can one cushion cover two separate locker lids?
It may change how the lockers are used. Show both lids in operation and discuss whether separate cushions, a revised division or a different attachment route better suits the arrangement.
Should I remove the hatch hardware for the pattern?
Do not remove fixed hardware just to take photographs. Start with visible details and follow the agreed measurement or pattern method; any dismantling should be specifically planned.
