THE FEEL / THE FIT / THE FINISH

A space that feels like yours.

Bespoke marine upholstery, considered from the first conversation to the final fitting.

Compare fabric, foam, piping and thread together. Confirm the pattern and fixing details before the finished pieces are made.

A CLOSER LOOK / PERSONALLY CONSIDERED

From swatch to seating.

Colour is only the beginning. Compare the material in the light of your space, then consider the cushion profile and the finish at its edges.

  • Material. Confirm the precise collection and feel using physical samples.
  • Construction. Agree the pattern, cushion depth and fastening details.
  • Finish. Bring piping, seams and border stitching into one direction.

01 / YOUR PROJECT

Describe the problem you feel.

Does the seat bottom out, feel too hard, slope forward or lose its shape? Describe when discomfort occurs and photograph the cushion on its support. Include the current thickness and whether the base is rigid or changes across the seat.

A lounge seat, upright helm position and berth mattress have different roles. Discuss the position and intended use before selecting the filling.

02 / YOUR PROJECT

Consider the depth and the cover together.

A new filling changes the profile that the cover must fit. If you want extra depth or a different shape, review the seams, edge heights and fixing positions as one construction.

Retaining existing foam can suit pieces that remain serviceable. Where support or shape has deteriorated, a new cover alone will not resolve the underlying problem.

03 / YOUR PROJECT

Agree the specification for the exposure.

Discuss wet use, ventilation and storage alongside comfort. Different filling and underside options can be considered for the actual seating location. No single foam construction suits every boat or every cushion.

Confirm the proposed feel, depth, pattern and cover before manufacture. The visual studio shows a palette; it cannot reproduce the physical feel of the filling.

PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Before we begin.

Is firmer foam always better for a helm seat?

The right support depends on the seat, available depth, base and intended position. Discuss the complete assembly rather than a universal firmness rule.

Can fresh covers fix collapsed foam?

Covers change the finish; they do not restore failed support. Include the filling in the assessment.
