THE FEEL / THE FIT / THE FINISH

A space that feels like yours.

Bespoke marine upholstery, considered from the first conversation to the final fitting.

Compare fabric, foam, piping and thread together. Confirm the pattern and fixing details before the finished pieces are made.

A CLOSER LOOK / PERSONALLY CONSIDERED

From swatch to seating.

Colour is only the beginning. Compare the material in the light of your space, then consider the cushion profile and the finish at its edges.

  • Material. Confirm the precise collection and feel using physical samples.
  • Construction. Agree the pattern, cushion depth and fastening details.
  • Finish. Bring piping, seams and border stitching into one direction.

Read the setting before the swatch.

Start with the elements that will remain: teak, paint, metalwork, joinery or a garden terrace. Photograph them beside the seating. A fabric chosen in isolation may feel quite different once it sits next to those surfaces. Your existing space is the reference for the palette.

Give each colour a role.

A quiet main fabric creates room for the shape and tailoring to show. Piping can define the edge; scatter cushions can bring a deeper blue or softer sage into the scheme. You do not need every element to be a different colour. Repeat one considered accent to connect the spaces.

Look at texture as well as tone.

Two ivory fabrics can have very different visual weight. Explore woven textures alongside smoother upholstery directions in the studio, then compare the shortlisted products in person. The right range depends on the actual setting, intended use and construction, not only the brand name.

Treat the studio as a starting conversation.

Use the seating visualiser to compare the main fabric, back, accents, piping and thread. Save a direction that interests you and share it with Josh. Screen brightness, lighting and the visualisation itself can change how colours appear, so final approval belongs with physical samples.

Consider the seam line.

A contrasting thread makes stitching more visible. A tonal thread keeps the finish quieter. Diamond stitching on a border can become a signature detail while the main seating surface stays clean. Agree where the pattern belongs on the actual piece, rather than choosing it from colour alone.
